Some kind of bacteria the blue green algae (cynobacteria) that existed on our earth for 3.4 billion years. Their main source of energy is the sunlight by which they survive through the process of photosynthesis.
But this energy taking process may expose them with the UV radiations, but these bacteria's had developed a special mechanism to protect themselves from UV rays after the struggle of millions of years, that involves the synthesis of small molecules called Mycosporines.
By keeping in view of this new process of self protecting molecules of bacteria’s two persons Emily Balskus and Christopher Walsh at the Harvard Medical School in Boston had made effort to prepare the genes that are responsible for sun screening substance and had transferred them into new organism called as E.coli, which will be then used to manufactured the same sun-protecting molecules.
Now a company in the Switzerland named as “Mibelle Biochemistry” has started producing sun-protecting creams by direct extraction of the active substances present in the ancient bacteria.
So when there is a disease there may be a cure for it, as it’s the natural justice.
