Designing new type of classrooms, researchers has found multi-touch, multi-user desks that can boost skills of children in mathematics.

New research done on 400 pupils of age 8 to 10 years showed that collective and group learning ability increase both fluency and picking power in maths, using an interactive smart desk is more useful than doing practice on paper.

While this project the children worked in a new innovative environment by using multi- touch desks hence able to solve more questions by consulting friends in combine study and participation that allows children a new way of learning in class rooms.

This new Star Trek class rooms not only help the pupils but also teachers in not only math’s but also in other subjects.

A finding published, showed that the students learned on multi-touch desks proves the 29% more results with fluency and flexibility then the students used the old traditional paper methods for solving and practicing questions.

Now what we were watching in movies will be practically experienced by our children in coming days.

Purdue University researcher Burkhard Schulz found that a certain chemical would be used to reduce the size of plants without affecting the yield.

He found propiconazole a fungicide that will be used to create smaller plants that will consume less water and fertilizers etc to grow but will produce more.

Fungicide is said to be harmless to humans as it is commonly used to spray in golf courses to treat fungal dollar spot disease.

This chemical will disrupt steroid production in plants; responsible in plants growth that is why we are eating more sweet fruits and vegetables these days and in better size.

Suppose if you are sent to a planet that is entirely made up of diamond, then what will be your feelings.

Its almost shocking for the diamond lovers that a team of researchers from UK, US, Australia, Germany and Italy with the help of Professor Matthew Bailes of Swinburne University of Technology using many telescopes in Australia, US and UK had discovered this planet in the Sepens group in our Milky Way galaxy.

But only one tiny problem is there, this planet is about 4000 light years away from us. So even if we travel with the speed of light it will take 4000 years to reach.

These radio waves regularly sweep our planet as the pulsar spins, as the radio waves was changing regularly, it led the team of astronomers to think that there is a nearby planet responsible for the change in its modulation, after estimation and examination of its density showed that it is much larger than expected, largely because it is made of crystalline substance means…Diamonds.

This vaccine produces such antibodies that prevent heroin or it metabolites from reaching it to the brain.

Chicken Feathers now used in making Plastics !!

Nature hasn’t made anything useless even a small little bee can produce honey. Till now the chicken feathers were considered useless and they were only used in making some low quality chicken feeds or mostly thrown away as garbage.

Almost billion tons of chicken feathers are produced each year worldwide, these feathers contains keratin a tough protein that is also present in the cow hoofs and other animals horns. If a thermoplastic film is made from keratin then it becomes too strong and tear resistant. Now by the use of Keratin Dr Yiqi Yang and his colleagues in USA “University of Nebraska Lincoln have found that, they can make tough plastic by the help of chicken feathers.

At the start the plastic made from it lacks in water resistance, but after the further hard work of Yang and his fellows they added another synthetic plastic making chemical to overcame it, they added methyl acrylate. Then the outcome was tremendous and the product was both tough and water resistant. This effort will increase the utilization of chicken feathers in making of different plastic products.

Now there is a lesson, that God had nothing made useless.

Therefore the scientists of Germany of “Fraunhofer Institute” had developed an extremely tiny video camera that is not bigger than a grain of a salt. Cellulose Bacteria now used in Biofuels !!

Now most of the countries are searching for the alternative way of fuel due to the rise in prices and its effect on the economy. Now as the evolution of science and to use the alternative natural resources, scientists are now moving toward certain types of bacteria that contain cellulose, as cellulose is the most common natural compound on our planet. Cotton contains 90%, wood 50% of cellulose and even all plants consists of 33% of cellulose as it is also the main component of the cell wall of the plants. Cellulose consists of hundred and thousands of chains that are linked together in glucose units. Previously lots efforts are done to convert this cellulose into biofuels like ethanol but not succeeded, may be the main reason of it is, the difficulty in breaking of its components in starch than sugar because of the linking of cellulose units with each other. But now the good news is that the scientists at Bio-energy Science Center in US had successfully converted cellulose directly into “Isobutanol” by using genetically sequenced strain of cellulose, it is more advantageous biofuel because it can directly be used in car engines as it also contains the same amount of heat as of petrol. Just wait for the few more successful developments then it will be commercially available for use and you will be using biofuel in your cars in the coming future that will be produced from grass.

Lobsters contain special sense of direction detection that allows them to locate the position through global positioning system (GPS) which allow them to sense the earth magnetic field with great accuracy that enable them to travel in the desired direction without losing the way.

Lobsters can find their way even 37 kilometers of distance from their position. This mode is now used in robots by the scientists at the University of North Carolina, USA.
