Can We See with the Help of our Tongue?

A new hope for blind peoples, a time will come when their will be no existence of blindness in this world.

“Wicab” is the company, based in Wisconsin, and in United States has developed a device for blind peoples that allow blind persons to partly see with the help of their tongues.

It consists of a small digital video camera that is fixed into the sunglasses worn by the blind person, which transmits digital signals from the camera into a small base unit that converts these signals into electrical pulses.

These pulses when received are then transmitted into a “lollipop” like device which lies on the tongue. Blind person will then feel the tingling sensations through his tongue which allow him to sense his surroundings.

But some kind of training and practice must be required to fin his way through doors, find various switches and other little sensitive objects.

This device will be marked soon but how much will be costly no one knows yet, lets hope for the best.
